Support
Travel2Gather is built by a very small team (currently: one person) and we're still in beta. We read every message, and we'd rather fix a real problem you're hitting than add another feature nobody asked for.
You're in beta. Travel2Gather is currently distributed via Apple's TestFlight. That means you're one of the first explorers to try it, and also that you'll occasionally hit bugs we haven't squashed yet. Thank you for being here — your reports genuinely shape the app.
Get in touch
The fastest way to reach us is email: support@travel2gather.app. We usually reply within 2 business days (Eastern time). If your message is about a security vulnerability or an urgent safety issue, put URGENT in the subject line.
Reporting a bug
Screenshots and a short description of what you were trying to do help a lot. If you're on TestFlight, you can also take a screenshot and tap Share Beta Feedback — it delivers the crash context and device info directly to us.
- Your phone model and iOS version (Settings → General → About)
- The app build number (Profile → About, or the TestFlight screen)
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead
Feature requests
We love these. Email us the shape of what you'd want to do, not the feature itself — the "I wish I could…" framing usually leads somewhere better than a pre-spec'd request.
Common questions
I signed in with Apple and my name is blank.
Apple only shares your name on the first authorization for an app. If the very first sign-in didn't capture it (for example, because of a version of the app before we fixed this), the name won't come back on subsequent sign-ins. Fix: open Profile → Edit profile and set your display name manually.
I can't sign in.
If email and password isn't working, use Forgot password on the sign-in screen — you'll get an email with a reset link. If you signed up with Apple or Google, use the same button you used originally (switching providers creates a new account with the same email).
A friend sent me a request and it's not showing up.
Force-close the app and reopen it. We refresh the friend list every time you open the Friends tab, but if the app was left open in the background for a long time, iOS may have frozen the network layer. Still not there? Ask your friend to confirm the code they used matches the one on your Friends → Your Friend Code card.
How do I leave a trip?
Open the trip → More → Members, tap your own row, and choose Leave trip. Anything you created in the trip (activities, expenses, photos) stays for the rest of the group — but your name comes off the member list and you stop receiving notifications.
How do I change my friend code?
Friends → Your Friend Code → Cycle. The old code stops working immediately; anyone who had already added you stays a friend.
I'm getting too many notifications.
Profile → Settings → Notifications lets you turn individual types on and off (friend requests, trip invitations, chat mentions, expense updates, etc.) and flip the master push switch off entirely.
I accidentally deleted my account — can I get it back?
Yes, within 30 days. When you request deletion, your account enters a recovery window. Sign back in before the window closes and we'll restore everything. After 30 days, a scheduled job permanently deletes your data (and anything attributed to you in shared trips is re-attributed to a placeholder) — we genuinely cannot recover it once that happens.
How do I delete my account?
Profile → Settings → Delete account. You'll get a 30-day recovery window before anything is hard-deleted. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what we delete and when.
Safety and abuse
If someone in a trip is harassing you, sending unwanted friend requests, or sharing content that violates our Terms: remove them from the trip (or unfriend them), then email support@travel2gather.app with the person's friend code or a screenshot. We take these seriously and aim to respond within 24 hours.
For anything involving imminent harm, please also contact your local authorities — we're a small team and we're not equipped to be first responders.
Security disclosure
Found a vulnerability? Please don't post it publicly. Email support@travel2gather.app with SECURITY in the subject line. We'll acknowledge within 72 hours and keep you posted on the fix. We don't currently run a paid bounty program, but we'll credit you (with permission) once the issue is resolved.
Service status
Travel2Gather runs on Google Cloud and Firebase. If the app is down, it's almost always because one of those is down. The quickest check is to sign out and back in — if that fails with a connection error across devices, it's us (or the cloud), not you. We'll post updates to our email list and on this page when something is broken for more than a few minutes.
Legal
For privacy, data, and rights questions see our Privacy Policy. For the rules of using the app see our Terms of Service. Legal and data-subject-rights requests go to legal@travel2gather.app.
